West Wind Sangha

City:
Carson City

We welcome newcomers. We start our sessions  with a 30 minute unguided meditation period.   If you come a few minutes early we will be happy to answer questions before the starting bell.  If you come in during meditation please sit quietly and we will get acquainted you after the ending bell is rung.

This is a small peer led group.  There is often a lot of discussion.   Discussion usually, but not always,  relates to the current book, that we read aloud together after Meditation.  We encourage frequent interuptions during reading and often take a long time to finish a book.  We try to keep the discussion focused on principles and concepts of Buddhism and to keep cross talk and/or debate to a minimum.  Wise speech is treasured.

We generally end with a short reading or Metta.

We are currently reading:  It's Easier Than You Think by Sylvia Boorstein

Our next book will be:  Who Dies by Steven and Ondrea Levine
