Equanimity: Finding Balance of Heart in a Turbulent World
How do I balance all the aspects of my life, which require attention?
How do I come to acceptance of my heart and life as it is?
How do I learn to respond appropriately to the suffering in my life,
family/friends and the world?
Equanimity is the wise balanced heart, which knows how to respond appropriately to the joys and sorrows of our lives and our world. The heart of equanimity knows how to navigate the winds of change, loss/gain, praise/blame, and the maze of dependent conditions which give rise to the events of our lives. The heart of equanimity has access to other positive flavors of heart such as lovingkindness, compassion, and joy.
Enjoy a day of quiet sitting and walking meditation, which allow our minds to settle down, and our hearts to open to an inner wisdom. In addition to insight meditation practice, Heather will guide equanimity practices through sitting meditation, simple movement practices, teachings, and plenty of discussion about how to bring more equanimity into our lives.
